Omar Manzo
Omar was born and raised in the Yakima Valley in Washington State. Originally, he wanted to become an astrophysicist, but fell in love with the history of Latin America and Political Science while in university. He graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s in Spanish and a double minor in Political Science and Latino and Latin American Studies. Omar is first-generation Mexican American and a proud son of migrant farm-working parents. He has a vocation for working with the younger generation and providing them with the tools they need to become successful global citizens. Omar stands with first-generation, low-income, and LGBT+ scholars.

Faviola Gomez
Faviola Gomez was raised in the lower Yakima Valley. She graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s in communication. She was also a First Scholar recipient. As a first-generation student, student of color, and low income she understands the importance of having the right tools when pursuing higher education. Faviola is looking forward to giving back to her community. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends through cooking or watching new shows.
